Naperville Community Television is accepting applications for high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in TV. We are dedicated to having an impact on the lives of the next generation of broadcast professionals. NCTV17 offers year-round internships at both the high school and college levels.
Our high school interns get a real-life, hands-on experience in the TV world, from camera operations and editing to interviews and live studio shoots. Students also will learn about marketing and graphics by working with the development team.
Our college-level interns have three tracks to choose from: reporter/production, marketing/development, or web and graphics. At this level, interns are given “real world” experience and leave with many projects they can use when looking for a job.
To be eligible for an NCTV17 internship, you must either be a resident of Naperville or a student enrolled in Naperville Community Unit School District 203, Indian Prairie School District 204 or North Central College. High school students are expected to put in five to 10 hours a week. College students must commit to 15 to 20. All internships are unpaid.
Past NCTV17 interns have gone on to pursue careers in television production, broadcast journalism, or communications at larger organizations, including NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and Fox.
For an application, visit nctv17.com/internships. High School applications are due April 18; college applications are due March 14.
