NCTV17 offers studio tours for Scouts

Naperville Community Television is opening its doors to Boy and Girl Scouts. Troops are invited to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a real TV station.

During a tour, Scouts will get to see the editing bay, newsroom, control room and studio. An NCTV17 news and sports reporter will be on hand to answer questions. Youth also get to make their own video using a green screen!

“The NCTV17 station tour for Cub Scout Den 513 was interesting, and most importantly, fun for the boys,” said Sam Bailey, den leader of Pack 513.

“It was the first time any of the boys have been able to see behind the scenes at a television station. Being able to meet and interact with video technicians, control room directors and on-screen talent made the tour come to life for all of us.”

Interested troops must be associated with Naperville School District 203, Indian Prairie School District 204 or a Naperville-based private school. Because of the nature of this tour, we cannot accommodate Tiger Cubs or Daisies.

Tours are available the first and third Mondays of each month at 4 and 5 p.m. To schedule a tour, contact me at jhannon@nctv17.com or 630-355-2124.

Jen Hannon is the community engagement director at Naperville Community Television, Channel 17
