Daisy

Age: 9 years old

Breed: Domestic long hair

Background: She was found outside eating what she could find, so she is a bit shy and slow to warm up to new people.

Personality: Daisy is the girl with the beautiful long and silky fur. Once she gets to know you, she loves to be held and cuddle, and will follow you around the house. She is OK with dogs but is not comfortable around other cats.

Other: She is up to date on her shots. An adoption application is required.

Adoption fee: $100

Where to find the pet: www.helpinganimals.org or call 877-364-2286

Bo

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Short-hair tan and white

Background: Bo and his sisters came into foster care when they were about 8 weeks old.

Personality: Bo is a “big lug” of a cat, with a great personality. He is very friendly and gets along well with most other cats. Bo and his sister Lucy were adopted together as kittens, but were returned after a year because of circumstances beyond their family’s control.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: Neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Where to find this pet: Paws and Purrs Humane Society, 630-897-8738, www.pawsandpurrs.org

Dug

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Beagle/boxer mix

Background: Possibly in a real home for the first time in his life, this sweet boy adores all the love and attention he’s now getting — particularly the tummy rubs! Dug is really smart and is coming along well on his training, although walking on a leash is still scary for him. So a fenced yard is really important at his new home.

Other: Dug is neutered, housebroken, crate trained and current on his vaccinations — microchipping is included with his adoption fee.

Adoption fee: $200

Where to find the pet: RoverRescue.org or call 630-897-7454

Tammy

Age: 7 months old

Breed: Hound mix

Background: She was transferred to NAHS from an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma.

Personality: Tammy is a sweet, friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. Tammy is gentle around cats and gets along well with most other dogs. Because she can be a little shy and nervous at first, it would be best if children in her new home have experience with dogs.

Adoption fee: $200

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Jules

Age: 5 years old

Breed: Black domestic long hair

Background: Her owner gave her up in September 2012.

Personality: Jules loves people and is very affectionate. She grew up as an “only” cat. When it comes to playtime, she is always ready.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, at 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Misty

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Domestic medium hair

Background: She was surrendered to NAHS because her owner no longer had time to take care of her.

Personality: Misty has it all; looks, charm, not to mention she is very sweet and affectionate. She enjoys attention and likes to be around people. She can be playful when the mood strikes her, but overall she prefers to spend her afternoons basking in the sun and getting her beauty rest. She gets along with some cats, and might do OK living with a calm, gentle dog.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Milo

Age: 10-1/2 years old

Breed: Chihuahua

Background: Milo arrived at ADOPT when his owner had passed away and his other owner had to go into a nursing home.

Personality: Milo is a very easy going boy that loves to lay around most of the day. As with most Chihuahuas, he only wants to go outside when the weather is warm and dry. He can be shy at first and will need a little time to warm up to you. No small children.

Other: Milo does have an enlarged heart and isn’t on medication at this time. He will need a home that is willing to provide a warm bed and medical checkups as required.

Adoption fee: $175

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.
