Chloe

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Domestic medium hair

Background: Chloe was born about August 2010. She and her son were found in a garage last fall, probably looking for shelter from the coming winter. She was matted when first found and had to be shaved to remove the mats.

Personality: Chloe is a beautiful girl with big bright gold eyes. She is on the small side, weighing about 8 pounds. She is sweet, gentle and affectionate.

Other: She is totally litter box trained. Her adoption fee includes spaying, up to date on vaccines, (including rabies) combo tested negative and microchipped.

Adoption fee: $100

Where to find the pet: www.helpinganimals.org or call 877-364-2286

Mia

Age: 2-1/2 years old

Breed: Labrador retriever-border collie mix

Background: Mia’s nine puppies have found their new families.

Background: A low-key girl, Mia adores both adults and kids. She has great house manners, rarely barks and walks nicely on a leash.

Other: Mia is spayed, housebroken and current on her vaccinations — microchipping is included with her adoption fee.

Where to find her: Rover Rescue

Dillon

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Short-haired tabby

Background: Dillon was born to an outside mom and rescued with his siblings at 5 weeks old.

Personality: Dillon is a little shy, but loves his foster mom, and would probably be fine in a quiet home with adults. He lives with his brother Magic and several other kitty buddies, and would love to go to his new home with one of his friends.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: Neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Where to find this pet: Paws and Purrs Humane Society, 630-897-8738, www.pawsandpurrs.org.

MaMa Kitty

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Orange/white domestic long hair

Background: Her owner gave her up. She’s been at ADOPT since September. Her son has been adopted.

Personality: MaMa Kitty is a sweet girl who is always ready for a big snuggle. She will charm you with her big eyes and beg for more.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, at 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Destiny

Age: 1-1/2 years old

Breed: Pug/chihuahua mix

Background: She was found as a stray in Oklahoma and transferred to NAHS.

Personality: If your idea of a perfect Friday night is staying home, watching a good movie and cuddling up on the couch, then Destiny is the perfect dog for you! She is very sweet, affectionate and friendly. Destiny gets along well with most dogs and is very gentle around cats as well. She would also do well with children of almost any age because she is so gentle and tolerant.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Skip

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Background: Skip was adopted out and came back after a week. We were told that he became overprotective of the wife and did not want any man to come near her.

Personality: Skip is not a typical chihuahua. He is a very energetic and quite an intense playmate to other dogs at ADOPT. He would prefer to be the only male and the only dog in the home so he can be the center of attention.

Adoption fee: $250

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter

Agatha

Age: 1-1/2 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: She was surrendered to NAHS because her owners moved.

Personality: Agatha is a sweet cat who needs a patient family to help her feel comfortable in her new home. She would do best in a calm and quiet home with older children. Agatha would also do best as an only pet in the home. She is a very loving and affectionate cat once she feels comfortable with you.

Adoption fee: $5 during Home for the Howlidays, Dec. 6-23.

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.
