Each month, we get to know a member of the Lisle Library District. This month, we shine the spotlight on Lisle Library Home Delivery Coordinator Linda Anderanin.
How long have you been with the library?
[I've been with the library] 12 ½ years. I manage the Home Delivery service, which is available for adults with valid Lisle Library cards who are physically unable to leave their homes to check out library materials for an extended period of time. Materials are delivered and picked up by volunteers every other Wednesday between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can call me to request the service at 630-971-1675 x1504. If they don't have a library card, I can sign them up for one.
What is your favorite part of working at the library? Why?
Matching a good book with a patron is always a joy, and it’s also my main responsibility when choosing books for our Home Delivery patrons. It’s like piecing together a puzzle, the Readers Advisory services we provide.
What is something library patrons may not know about you?
I am the proud owner of a little Norwich Terrier named Pip.
What do you think is an underused feature of the library?
Some patrons may not be aware of our “atrium” reading/sitting area near the west end of the adult floor. It’s bright, comfortable and relaxing.
What is your favorite book and why?
Too many titles to just pick one, but one of my favorite authors is Anne Rivers Siddons because of her character development, and I enjoy the modern gothic southern flavor.
