Each month, we'll get to know a member of the Lisle Library District community. Last month, we met Lisle Library District Director Shannon Halikias. This month, we meet Director of Circulation Services Paul Hurt.
How long have you been with the library?
I have worked at Lisle Library for one year and two months, and I have enjoyed it very much.
What is your favorite part of working at the library?
I work with friendly and dedicated staff members, and I meet patrons every day who love using their library.
What is something library patrons may not know about you?
I play the trombone. I used to play in a few community bands, and I am currently searching for a new band. My favorite genre to play is jazz.
What do you think is an underused feature of the library?
The Library’s Connection Desk offers patrons the opportunity to learn more about current technology and see it in action.
What is your favorite book and why?
One of my favorite books to have studied and discussed with my colleagues is "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë. I appreciate the second generation's story, which is sometimes eliminated in film adaptations. I'm also a fan of The Galahad Series by Dom Testa. It's a science-fiction series of books for young adults, and I like the suspenseful stories.
