Twenty-five high school students from Chicago’s western suburbs participated in service activities this summer as members of the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine Junior Service League (SJSL).
Participants volunteered in a variety of ways at locations across the Chicago area. The activities fostered personal growth by giving SJSL members hands-on experience with community-based organizations such as the Ronald McDonald® House near Loyola University Medical Center where Kerry McCarter of Naperville and Emily Furlong of Hinsdale are pictured helping prepare dinner for families staying there.
The SJSL will be recognized at the Stritch 63rd Annual Awards Dinner Saturday, November, 16, 2013, at the Field Museum.
