Princess

Age: 3-1/2 years old

Breed: MinPin mix

Background: Princess had a family when she was a puppy, but unfortunately, they gave her up. They no longer “had time” for her after their baby was born.

Personality: Princess’s name fits her perfectly. She likes to be the center of attention and receive lots of snuggles. She’s quick and active with a lot of curiosity. She is very smart, and benefits from daily walks and playing in the yard.

Other: She is completely potty trained and loves to sleep in her crate through the night.

Adoption fee: $200

Where to find the pet: www.helpinganimals.org or 877-364-2286

Heidi

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: Heidi was pregnant when she was found and went into foster care. On March 16, 2012, she gave birth to three kittens, two of which had birth defects. She was rescued from Fixin Ferals.

Personality: She is affectionate and social and in her own way loves to hang around people. She needs time to warm up to you. She is quite talkative and purrs easily.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Mikey

Age: 8 years old

Breed: Maltese poodle mix

Background: Mikey came to ADOPT when his owner no longer could keep him and his “sister” Delilah.

Personality: Mikey, 10 pounds, is a happy friendly boy. His former owner says he is housebroken and has done well with children of all ages. He loved playing and running in their play yard with his sister and a few of his dog friends. When he is tired out from playing, he would love a warm lap to rest his head.

Adoption fee: $200

Lucky

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Background: Lucky was found as a stray in Oklahoma and transferred to NAHS.

Personality: Lucky is a sweet, gentle girl who loves nothing more then snuggling on your lap … especially on these cold winter nights. Lucky would do best in a quiet, calm home with a family that understands she can be shy and nervous at times. She can be overwhelmed by a lot of activity, so it would be best if children in her new home are at least 8 years old. Lucky might enjoy living with another calm dog and maybe even a cat, too.

Adoption fee: $200

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, from 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Cookie Dough

Age: 7 months old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: Cookie Dough was found as a stray by animal control and brought to NAHS.

Personality: Just like his namesake, Cookie Dough is sweet and irresistible. He is a very playful and inquisitive cat. He loves toys of all kinds, especially bubbles! He might do fine living with a dog, and he also gets along well with most other cats.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: Spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Where to find this pet: Paws and Purrs Humane Society, 630-897-8738, www.pawsandpurrs.org.
