Student of the Week: Louisa Washburn, Yorkville High School

Each week, we get to know a different student from an area high school. This week we talk with Louisa Washburn, a sophomore at Yorkville High School. 

Q: What are your post-high school plans?

A: My post-high school plans are to go to college and join the Navy as a fighter pilot

Q: What do you like to do on the weekends?

A: On weekends, I enjoy being outside and doing anything active. Hobbies include skiing, skateboarding, kayaking and wake-boarding.

Q: What is your favorite class or favorite subject? Favorite teacher?

A: My favorite subject is band because I have a passion for music and love the whole atmosphere of being with friends and making music.

Q: Who has influenced you the most in your educational career and why?

A: In my educational career, my brother has influenced me the most because he has been able to show me what to expect throughout the rest of my high school, such as ACT testing and college planning.

Q: What is your favorite social media and what do you use it for the most?

A: My favorite social media is Facebook because it allows me to connect with friends and family that I do not see very often and live far away.

Q: What is one thing someone wouldn’t expect to know about you?

A: One thing someone would not know about me is that I am from San Jose, California and am half Danish.

Q: What is your favorite sports team?

A: My favorite sports team is the Wisconsin Badgers.

Q: What is the one website that you have to visit everyday?

A: I do not have a website that I MUST visit every day.

Q: What fictional character or celebrity would you most like to be friends with and why?

A: The celebrity I would be friends with is Rob Dyrdek because he is always doing something crazy and fun, which are things that I would do.

Q: If your group of friends were a species from the Star Wars universe, which would it be and why?

A: If my group of friends were a species from the Star Wars universe, they would be droids because then they could follow me everywhere I go like my own possy. 

Q: What superpower would be most useful to you in your daily life and why? (Feel free to make up a new superpower).

A:The superpower that would be most useful to me in my daily life is to be able to stop time because I am always busy and don't usually have a lot of free time.
