Four young men from Naperville are free on bond and awaiting trial, after being arrested by Lisle police on narcotics-related charges.
Alex A. Arteaga, 20; Alec J. Bauer, 19; Ryan J. Loughlin, 19; and Craig A. Montgomery, 20, were arrested after one of them got out of the car in which they were traveling to urinate in a clump of bushes, Lisle police Watch Cmdr. Ron Wilke said.
A Lisle police officer was on routine patrol when he spotted the car around 10 p.m. Nov. 23, Wilke said. Montgomery was driving the vehicle.
Wilke said the officer followed the car and curbed it near Old Plank Road and Springhill Circle. That intersection is on the border between the Yorkshire Manor and Spring Hill neighborhoods on Naperville’s northeast side.
Montgomery, who lives on the 600 block of Balmoral Circle in the Charles Place neighborhood, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. Arteaga, of the 800 block of North Ellsworth Street on Naperville’s north side, faces trial for possession of drug equipment in the form of a smoking pipe or pipes.
Bauer, of the 3900 block of Hobson Gate Court near Naperville’s far east side, was also charged with possession of drug equipment, Wilke said. Loughlin, who lives on the 400 block of North River Road near the Brush Hill neighborhood, will stand trial for possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana.
An examination of court documents showed none of the men has a significant record in DuPage County. Arteaga was ordered to perform community service work, placed on supervision and fined after being found guilty of disorderly conduct in 2010 in Naperville, court records indicated.
