BOLINGBROOK — Jordan Oliver was the baby of her family, a friendly girl who played on a traveling basketball team and loved to be outside. City to hire new Code Enforcement officers

The city of Naperville has a hiring freeze in place, but some positions still need to be filled. The City Council Tuesday unanimously approved hiring two Code Enforcement officers, a graduate intern for the City Manager’s office and one technician each for Public Works-Water and the Department of Transportation, Engineering and Development. Councilman Doug Krause praised city staff. “Right now we are looking at a $16 million hole,” he said of the budget due March of 2013, a process which is an ongoing part of the city’s management procedures. “You are saving money,” he said. Man found guilty of trespassing

A Naperville man accused in a federal lawsuit of sexually assaulting a female guest of the Hilton Lisle/Naperville hotel has been convicted of a misdemeanor charge of trespassing in the woman’s room. Jayson D. Dabrowski, a former bartender at the hotel, has been ordered to serve seven days in the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program, or SWAP, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton. Dabrowski has also been placed on two years of court supervision, records indicated. Dabrowski, 31, last lived on the 500 block of North Brainard Street north of downtown Naperville. He was found …

College campuses that should be safe havens are not immune to the crime that plagues the rest of society. Cynthia Flores has some ideas about what can be done about it. It’s not always easy to ask for help, even when hunger is on the doorstep.
