Girls Basketball Notes: Metea Valley has tale to tell with Jenny Voytell

As the lone returning starter on an inexperienced team, Metea Valley senior Jenny Voytell was expected to carry a heavy load this season.

Mustangs coach Kris Kalivas had high expectations for Voytell even though the 5-8 guard had never before played a leading role.

Voytell has lived up to that billing and then some. Metea Valley is off to a surprising 6-2 start and Voytell has been leading the way.

“Jenny has done a great job for us on both ends of the floor,” Kalivas said. “She works hard offensively and she usually has the toughest defensive assignments, so we don’t really give her much of a break."
