Smith sisters have Neuqua Valley on the defensive

Neuqua Valley is proving to be a team no one wants to face. With a withering full-court press and a seemingly bottomless supply of talented guards, the Wildcats are off to an 8-2 start.

They have scored 70 points or more six times this year, including their last four outings. Much of that production comes off turnovers.

“Definitely with our guards, we all push each other in practice to make sure everybody’s ready to go, and this year we definitely have a lot more guards that we do posts, so it’s just a lot deeper with our guards,” senior Malia Smith said. “We definitely practice trapping and then getting the next pass and everybody is just moving, moving, moving and everybody gets steals.”
