With the sledding and skating season underway, the Naperville Park District’s Riverwalk Eatery will open from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday afternoons through mid-February as long as the sled hill at Rotary Hill is open. As conditions permit, it also will open from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 23, 26, 27, 30 and 31, and Jan. 2 and 3. The shop also will be open from 5:30 to 7 p.m. during the family-friendly Carillon Countdown celebration for New Year’s Eve.
The Eatery’s winter menu will feature hot chocolate, coffee, bottled drinks, popcorn, churros, chips and candy.
“We’re happy to offer a place at the Riverwalk where sledders and skaters can warm up and enjoy hot chocolate and a snack,” said program manager Fred Gusel.
Naperville Park District sled hills are open whenever snow is at least 2 inches deep with no visible grass. Ice skating is also available when temperatures allow maintenance of the ice.
