You’ll be seeing orange Saturday at The Growing Place’s annual Pumpkin Palooza.
“Pretty much Saturday is a celebration of all things pumpkin,” said Heather Prince, assistant marketing manager at The Growing Place in Aurora. “We have crafts, food, games, pumpkin launching, photo opportunities and just a lot of fun.”
Along with a plethora of pumpkins and plenty of activities for the whole family, The Growing Place has joined forces with four local charities in a “giant” fundraising effort.
Here’s how it works: The Growing Place is decorating four giant pumpkins for charity. Donations are being accepted throughout the month, and they’ll match any donation placed for the winning decorated pumpkin up to $500. The pumpkin with the most votes will win.
“We are excited to raise money for four great charities: Mutual Ground, People’s Resource Center, Operation Support Our Troops-America, and Feed My Starving Children,” she said.
The Growing Place is at 2000 Montgomery Roa in Aurora. To learn more about the festivities, which take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., visit www.thegrowingplace.com/fests.html.
