If you are searching for a family-friendly Halloween celebration that your kids will not forget any time soon, Mall of America’s Nickelodeon Universe offers the spooky thrills you are after. With activities and attractions for children of all ages, you can delight your whole family with 2013’s Blackout event.
Nickelodeon Universe transformed
You will see the Nickelodeon Universe revamped to capture the mood of Halloween with black lights, fog machines, and terrifyingly thrilling unlit rides. A live DJ will also be playing Halloween tunes to get you in the mood for frightening celebrations.
Events and contests
Your child’s favorite Nickelodeon characters—including SpongeBob and Patrick, Dora and Diego, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—will be making appearances throughout the event. Early evening events kick off with a Halloween costume contest for participants 12 and under with awards in a number of fun categories. To capture the event, you can head to the North Entrance for blackout digital photos after stopping for some Glow-dos to help your little ones stand out under the black lights. On the Patio, you can enjoy a bubble dance party followed by an appearance by DJ Glo.
Blackout 2013 kicks off Friday, October 18, with festivities continuing the following weekend as well. You can buy unlimited Blackout Ride Wristbands for $20.99 plus tax or purchase ride tickets individually. Treat bags are given out with the first 1,000 ride tickets purchased after 5 p.m. The lights don’t go out until 8, so you can bring along younger kids for early events.
