Whether or not the groundhog predicts an early spring, an evening of tropical fun can provide welcome relief from the winter cold for fathers and daughters. The Naperville Park District invites fathers to spend a memorable evening with their young daughters at the annual Daddy Daughter Winter Luau on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The event will include fun, food, and dancing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ranch View School gym at 1651 Ranchview Drive.
“It’s fun to see dads and daughters dancing and laughing at this event,” said Program Manager Beth Durso. “It’s an opportunity to see neighbors and friends as well, which is especially appreciated during a winter like this when many of us hibernate at home on the weekends.”
The 2014 Winter Luau features a buffet provided by Lou Malnati’s, an ice cream sundae bar, face painting, tropical-themed games and crafts, raffle prizes, dancing, and a variety of contests led by the DJ. Fathers and daughters are encouraged to dress in Hawaiian outfits, and will be able to take home a free photograph to commemorate the evening.
Registration is now open on a first-come, first-served basis until the event is full. To register, visitwww.napervilleparks.org or call the Naperville Park District at 630-848-5000.
